As part of the programme to develop its business throughout Europe, and with the specific aim of developing its business in the UK; BIOTEC has appointed Kim Scudamore as Sales and Marketing Manager UK. Kim is a graduated biologist who spent his early career leading food and medical packaging projects for a major packaging group. This was followed by a number of commercial roles in the polymer industry that spanned over 20 years with BASF and its successor companies such as Lyondellbasell.
He will be in charge of developing BIOTEC markets in the UK and Ireland.
“Kim’s wide knowledge of the UK market, combined with his understanding of the converters’ requirements and the needs of the end-user will give us a strong advantage in developing the UK market.” says Peter Brunk, BIOTEC Managing Director for Operations. “I’m excited by the challenge of this new responsibility that combines my interest with my background and my experience” said Kim Scudamore. "BIOTEC is an important part of the biopolymer story, and I am pleased to be helping them with the next chapter.”
BIOTEC is a leading company in the European market for the research and production of bioplastics. Based in Germany, Biotec has developed the BIOPLAST range; plasticizer-free and 100% biodegradable resins that are based on renewable, plant-based resources. BIOPLAST resins have a wide range of applications, but are proven and widely used for film (refuse bags and shopper bags) and rigid applications (injection moulding and thermoforming).
