In the second quarter of 2017, BIOTEC was represented at two important fairs: The interpack in D-Düsseldorf and the FIP Solution Plastique in F-Lyon. During booth fairs, BIOTEC showed its BIOPLAST resins that are based on agricultural-resources like potato starch and biopolymers like PLA.
The interpack is the world’s largest and most important fair for packaging solutions. This year, there was a record attendance of 2,865 companies – and BIOTEC has been one of them. At interpack 2017, we paid special attention to last year’s launched BIOPLAST resins for fruit + vegetable bags: BIOPLAST 300, BIOPLAST 400 and BIOPLAST 500. At our booth, we installed a fruit bar and offered “BIOPLAST and vitamins to take away” to the visitors of our booth. Furthermore, we also showed samples made of the other well-known BIOPLAST resins for film and rigid applications (BIOPLAST GF 106/02, BIOPLAST GS 2189 and BIOPLAST 900).
The FIP Solution Plastique is a European plastics trade show taking place every three years. This year, more than 800 exhibitors attended the show. Jean-Pierre Le Flanchec, Sales and Marketing Director at BIOTEC, says: “The French law voted in August 2015 imposing that compostable fruit and vegetable bags and mailing films are a real opportunity to the French plastic converters. Innovation is a key word for our industry, and in the meantime we have to consider the end of life options of each product.” BIOPLAST resins are part of the plastics family offering a specific functionality: the compostability.
Jean-Pierre Le Flanchec also spoke on two different topics: “When bio sourced materials play the performance card” and “Bioplastics: product origin and end-of-life”.
At this point, we would like to thank all visitors for their interest and look forward to deepening the new contacts.
